The first quarter of 2022 marked several significant milestones, including the finalization of the GDD, technology research, recruitment of graphic designers for inimitable card illustrations, and the development of the game’s main menu UX. This phase also saw the setting up of a dedicated blockchain developers team and the crafting of the first game board concept.
The second quarter of 2022 was a whirlwind of activity. In-depth work continued on the card illustrations and in-game graphics. The Genesis Game Board design was finalized, and the Main Menu UI was conceptualized and implemented in Unity. This phase also saw the development of intricate gameplay mechanics like the turn-based battle system, Mana distribution system, and a card-burning mechanism. The player login system and the Treasury were also initiated during this phase.
Heading into Q3 of 2022, the team had completed the final touches on the Main Menu UI design and worked on new Unity views, including settings, deck creation, card packs, and others.
In the final quarter of 2022, intensive developments took place. The team worked on several gameplay mechanisms, completed the pre-alpha version of the game, commenced initial testing and balancing, and integrated the Marketplace with the server. This phase also saw the recruitment of testers for the Closed Beta.
As we move into 2023, the first quarter marked the beginning of an impressive development phase. Implementation of animations and fx effects were added in the gameplay, an intricate chat system got integrated into the game, and further tests were done for the Closed Beta. Q2 will follow with rigorous closed beta testing, smart contract audits, the addition of a tutorial to the game, tournament system implementation, and the highly anticipated in-game NFT Marketplace release.
Furthermore, the development team aims to test a mobile version and develop new cards for a new race expansion pack. This phase will also see the beginning of adventure development and the selection of board validators for the new expansion.
Looking ahead into Q3 and Q4 of 2023, the developments are expected to be more exciting than ever— from Guild Wars expansion development, the listing of $LoE, to the realization of the first-ever eSports tournament. An expansion featuring new races & cards, the beginning of desktop and mobile version development, and the introduction of Battlefield mode are also on the horizon.
